Laconia Ice Company, Inc. has been a family owned and operated business since 1913. The Rudzinski family has seen the company through every phase of the ice industry and maintains the company to this day. For 50 years ice was harvested right off of Lake Winnepesaukee every winter and packed in a storage barn until the summer season when it was cut to size and delivered door to door.
1964 marked the last ice harvest, and the company began shifting its focus into manufacturing for the retail market.
In 1987, the business was moved to a new plant on Blaisdell Avenue in Laconia, which is where the company still resides today.
Our ice is produced as our only product for the retail and commercial markets. As a company that strongly believes in customer service and satisfaction, we provide timely delivery of high quality packaged ice at competitive prices. A fleet of modern delivery trucks allow us to effectively cover most of the State of New Hampshire as well as Southern Maine.
Today, ice is manufactured with the assumption that it is being produced for consumption. Hence, ice IS food, and we treat it as such. We take the safety and quality of our ice very seriously. Our modernized plant in Laconia, NH has a fully automated packaging system that allows the product to never come into contact with human hands. As a member of the Northeastern Ice Association (NIA) and the International Packaged Ice Association (IPIA), we are audited every year under the PIQCS-PLUS and HACCP programs by NSF International. Every month, our water is tested by the City of Laconia, and our finished ice product is tested by the State of New Hampshire.
